Since 2016 EQA Energy develops Hydro-powered energy solutions.

As of 2020 EQA Energy introduced the development of Floating & Submersible Solar energy solutions.

This resulted in the additional innovations on this page. Nevertheless our Energy is nowadays focused on bringing hydro-power to the World with the EQA River

EQA BOX

In, for example, The Netherlands alone we have approx. 20.000 potential thrust valves on which a BOX can be mounted and consequently produce renewable energy. Not all locations are economically viable, of course. But many are.

Largely made of recycled plastics, EQA energy has produced a plug & play fish-friendly and economically viable solution aimed at harvesting energy from existing or new-to-build weirs.

FLOATING SOLAR

Floating Solar offers a series of advantages;

  • (scarce) land consumtion is being avoided

  • water saving and water quality is improved depending on the climate

  • production of renewable solar energy is more efficient than production on land, due to reflection, sun-tracking and natural cooling

  • installation and decommissioning is simpler

  • in many cases, floating solar does not polute the horizon or landscape.

MADE SUBMERSIBLE

All advantages aside, floating solar fields embody -like many alternatives- a potential risk of damage in case of extreme weather conditions, especially strong winds and storm.

To eleminate thsi risk, EQA has developed and patented a sumbersible floating solar field. Guided by wheather data, a floating solar field will fully submerge within a 15 minute window. At calmer weather conditions, a solar field will resurface within 15 minutes.

On top of weather protection, an additional advantage of submerging a solar field, is that Photovoltaic cells are cooled and clean after resurfacing.

Insurance companies, project developers and numerous other stakeholders prefer submersible solar fields over regular floating solar fields.
